Extension & Support Services

I) Junior Red Cross Youth

The Red Cross Youth Group is set up in the college which is active in various health Schemes. Red Cross activities are managed by groups comprising of 24 students. Each group work under a Group Leader and under the overall guidance of the Professor- in charge.

II) National Service Scheme (N.S.S.)

In order to inculcate the spirit of service among the students, particularly for the economically weaker sections and down-trodden unities, various activities of the N.S.S. are undertaken every year, the N.S.S. activities are guided by the University of Pune and the students have to follow the norms laid down by the University in this regard.

III) National Cadet Corp. (N.C.C.)

Facilities are made available to the students for enrollment in the following N.C.C. Units:

  1. Signal N.C.C. Unit
  2. Naval N.C.C. Unit
  3. Armed N.C.C. Unit
  4. Air N.C.C. Unit
  5. Girls N.C.C. Unit Further details can be had from Professor - in charge of N.C.C. Unit.

IV) Gymkhana

The college encourages participation of student in various Inter-School/lnter college & inter university tournaments. The sports activities are managed through Gymkhana Managing Committee consisting of members of the staff and students nominee I.C.S.R. Who will be nominated by the Principal. Strict discipline is expected to be maintained on the college ground. Details of the tournaments etc are displayed on the Notice Board from time to time

V) Canteen Facility

A decent canteen is situated in the natural beauty that caters to the need of the students with fresh snacks. Separate and spacious canteen facility is made available for the girls as well.

VI) Placement Cell

The Cell provides career guidance and counseling for preparation of UGC, CSIR, NET/SET Examinations as other competitive Examinations. Subsequently campus interviews are arranged and students are provided placements.

VII) Students Council

The University Representative (U.R.) Shall be selected by the C.R.s of all the classes to represent the college in the Student's Council of the University of Pune. According to the University directives, the Class Representative (C.R) has. to be the student who has secured the highest number of marks in (he preceding qualifying examination. CR. will automatically pass to the student who is immediately next in the merit but only up to the student who is third in merit. In other words, if first three students In merit decline to accept the offer then there will be no C.R. for that class. For any other representative of students or any other body like sports associations., etc. Such nomination will also be based on academic merit and the Principal shall have full power to nominate such a student and no complaint on that behalf will be entertained.

VIII) Attendance

All the students, their parent & Guardians should note that as per the notification of the Govt. of Maharashtra and the rules and regulations framed by the University of Pune regarding attendance, senior college student must attend classes in all subjects to the extent of 80% during the academic year. If his/her attendance is less than 80% he/she will be disqualified for appearing for university Examinations and practicals. A student will have an undertaking to this effect.

IX) Research Achievements

Eight students have already been awarded Ph,D degree in commerce from our college. Four Ph. D students in English and Two Ph. D students in Economics have been awarded degree from our college. Twenty Three in Commerce and Three students each are in process of completion of their Ph. D work in Economics, English and Chemistry.

CAUTION

If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him/her from the college.
